Director

Conductor of the Peachtree Wind Ensemble

Mike Daniell is a graduate of The University of the State of New York in Albany, NY with a BS degree in Music History and Trumpet Performance, and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville KY, with a MCM degree with emphasis in Trumpet Performance, Instrumental Pedagogy, and Choral Pedagogy. He holds the Honors Award Certificate in Orchestral Instrument Studies from that institution. Additional studies include trumpet, music education, choral and instrumental conducting at Columbus College, Columbus GA, and The University of South Florida, Tampa Florida.

He has studied trumpet with John Head, Leon Rapier, Don Owen, Paul Weise, Douglas Smith, and conducting with Milburn Price, Lara Haggard, and Douglas Smith. His performance activities include The Florida Gulf Coast Symphony, The Columbus Symphony, and The Savannah Symphony. In addition Mike has performed with The Georgia Brass Band, The Louisville Brassworks Quintet, the Fountain City Brass Quintet, and as soloist with various HS bands. He has serve as clinician in bands in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. He currently is a member of the Lafayette Brass Quintet, and is on the conducting staff for the Twilight Theatre. Teaching and conducting responsibilities include positions in Savannah GA, as Director of Bands for the Westminster School, and St Andrews School. For 14 years he was on the Faculty of Armstrong Atlantic State University, where he served as Director of the Community Music School, Co-Conductor of the Armstrong Community Band, and Instructor of Music Education, Music Appreciation and Trumpet. Currently Mr. Daniell is on the instrumental music faculty at Point University, and serves as Music Director of the North Fayette United Methodist Church in Fayetteville.
