Amy Melton has been playing the French Horn since the 4th grade. She is currently a member of the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra and has participated in All-State Band/Orchestra since the 6th grade. On top of her love for instrumental music, she enjoys singing for the Spivey Hall Children’s Choir. Besides music, Amy loves to write. She writes a monthly blog for Oncourse Magazine and will publish her first article for Discipleship Ideas in the summer of 2011. Jonathan Huynh started to play the trumpet at age nine. He went to Tyrone Elementary and was a part of the 5th grade band. Jonathan was placed first chair in the Flat Rock 6th grade advanced band in 2008-2009. He is now in the Flat Rock symphonic band seating in first chair. Jonathan has attended numerous honor bands starting from as early as 5th grade and made the GMEA all state band two years in a row. Honor bands include 5th and 6th grade honor band, District 6 honor band (2009, 2010, 2011), UGA mid-fest honor band, and Clayton State honor band clinic. He made the all state band in 2009-2010 seating in 4th chair and made the 2010-2011 all state band seating in 2nd chair.

Shelby is in the 10th grade at East Coweta High School where she is principal bassoon for the Wind Ensemble under the direction of Robert Owens. She is also currently the 2nd assistant bassoon in the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Metropolitan Atlanta Youth Wind Ensemble. She was selected for District Honor Band in 2008, 2009, and 2010. Shelby performed the Rondo from Mozart’s concerto in Bb major.

Anna attends Whitewater Middle School and is a member of the Symphonic Band under the direction of Bill Melton. In 2009 she received an award for the most improved Symphonic Band student. She was selected for District Honor Band in 2008, 2009, and 2010. She received the Director’s Award at the 2009 Encore band camp. In 2010 she attended the Georgia Music Educators’ Association all-state band in Savannah, Ga. Her private horn teacher is Chad McDonald. Anna performed Mozart’s Concerto in Bb for French Horn.
